WALTER WELK, 83, FARM MACHINE WORKER
Walter H. Welk, 83, of Fairmount Rest Home, Ephrata, formerly of Strasburg, died of natural causes Thursday afternoon at the home, where he had lived since 1993.
Welk was an assemblyman for 26 years at the former New Holland Machine Co. He previously was employed by the state highway department.
He was a member of the Strasburg Fire Company, Strasburg Sportsman's Association and the Potter County Snowmobile Club.
Born in Paradise Township he was the son of the late Maurice K. and Barbara Hellem Welk.
