Evelyn V. Grumelli, age 88 of Bart, PA passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Hershey Medical Center. She was the loving wife of George A. Grumelli with whom she celebrated 69 years of marriage on October 22nd of last year. She was born in Sadsbury Twp. Daughter of the late Maurice K. & Barbara Hellem Welk. She was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church of Bart, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She graduated from the former Bart Township High School class of 1940. In the past she had worked at the Bart Colerain Elementary School cafeteria. She was a member of the Strasburg Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling and spending time with her family. She was the devoted mother of George A. Grumelli, Jr. at home, Fred V. Grumelli of Bart, Susan L. McVey of Paradise, Rose M. wife of Stanley L. Hoffman of Bart, Kenneth W. husband of Betty Sheetz Grumelli of Quarryville, Lisa A. wife of David S. Ross of Strasburg. She was the loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angie McVey Eversole, Son In Law, Robert McVey, 10 siblings: Maude Rice, Ruth Frackman, Dorothy Druck, Helen, Paul, George Sr., Maurice, Elwood, Walter and Lloyd Welk. Funeral service will take place from the Georgetown United Methodist Church, 1070 Georgetown Road, Bart, PA on Monday, January 24th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Elaine Miller Bortman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
