“Bud” Jones, 80, of Rossville, Ga passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014.

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Tabernacle and was retired from Dupont after 33 years of service. He was a former member and Deacon of Philadelphia Baptist Church where he also served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and taught Sunday School. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, the former owner/operator of Jones Custom Tips and he loved carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Jones, father, Christopher Jones and mother, Ettie Lou Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nellie Sue Jones, son, Lebron Jones, daughter-in-law, Debra Jones, grandchildren, Russell and Courtney Jones, sister, Barbara Jean Peeler and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. David Stancil and Rev. Doug Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
