Obituary
Sarah Ann Neil (nee Bowen) was born near Wooster, Wayne county, O., April 15, 1827, and departed this life from her late home in Montpelier, Ohio, April 9, 1904, aged 76 years, 4 months, and 24 days.
She was converted and united with the Church of God in Bloomville, Richland County, Ohio, at the age of 14, and lived a consistent Christian life and loyal to the church to the end.
On April 9, 1849, she was married to Rev. Joseph Neil, whose joys and sorrows she shared for 55 years. To them were born 10 children, 5 sons and 5 daughters. Her husband, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 3 brothers, 4 sisters survive to mourn her departure. She was a faithful wife; cheerfully and without complaint did she for forty years bear her share of the burdens, privation and cares incident to the life of an itinerant minister and his family. She was a kind and indulgent mother, thoughtful and unselfish; she gave herself to serve the family. She was a good neighbor, was loved, and enjoyed the confidence of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed in the home and community. She loved God and strove to do his will. She loved her Bible and read it through a number of times. She was not only a reader but a doer of God's word. Her life was a beautiful emblem of her profession. She has left us with the assurance that she is now at home on the sunny banks of eternal deliverance.
The funeral services were held on the 11th inst., from her late home, conducted by Rev. W. F. Barber of the U. B. Church. Her remains were laid to rest in the Heritage cemetery, there to await the resurrection of the just. She lived the life of the righteous, and her end was like his.
