Norene Felt Kopinsky

Early Life: Norene was born September 7, 1928, in Lehi, Utah, to Charles Ray and Melba Fox Felt. She grew up in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School where she was active in auxiliaries, excelled in academics and played basketball. She attended Utah State University and LDS Business College. She also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northwestern States.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On November 6, 1957, Norene married Michael John Kopinsky Jr.; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Norene and Mike were the parents of two boys, Gary and John. Norene worked in Human Resources as a Labor Relations Manager for the Federal Government for 39 years. She had many talents: loved music, played the violin, sang and was an accomplished pianist. She loved horses and working outdoors. Throughout her life she always had to have a horse in the pasture. She loved animals and would always welcome a stray. She was as comfortable riding horses, hauling hay, or working in the garden as she was sitting at the piano, singing, or doing needlework. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served many years as ward and stake choir director, organist and in many other callings. She was very well-read in the scriptures. Norene Felt Kopinsky passed away peacefully on October 10, 2014, in American Fork, Utah. She was 86.
Survived By: A son, John (Carolyn) Kopinsky; grandchildren: Necia, Josh (Ashley), Marissa (Reese), Brandon, Aubrey, Tyler and Zack Kopinsky; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Russell (Rita) Felt.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Michael John Kopinsky Jr.; a son, Gary; her parents; brother, Dick (Dayleen) Felt; and numerous other aunts and uncles who acted as second parents to Norene. Indeed, it must have been a great reunion.
