The Chandler Tribune (Chandler, Okla.), Tuesday, July 2, 1907
Mrs. H.R. Yancey died last Thursday, June 20, after having suffered almost a year with cancer. She made a brave fight for life and all that money and loving hands could do was done to stay the disease and make her days as pleasant as possible. Mrs. Yancey was a member of the Christian church and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. Her funeral was largely attended by her friends. The funeral services were held by her pastor Rev. James Cage. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery located on Mr. Yancey’s farm. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community.
