Mr. Makemson's Rites Set At 10:30 Tuesday
Funeral servicces for Charlie Makemson, 64, of Forrest City will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Floyd Perry of Widener in charge, with burial to follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Makemson died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Forrest Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been in ill health for over a year.
Born February 22, 1904, in Hackleburg, Ala., he was the son of Angeline Lolly Makemson and Alex Makemson. He lived in Alabama all his life before moving here 14 years ago.
A farmer and a Baptist, he married Mrs. Velma Vance in 1926.
Survivors include his wife of Forrest City; three sons, Chester and Jack Makemson, both of Forrest City, and Neal Makemson, Coachella, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Woods, Mrs. Opal Kilgore, Miss Bonnie Makemson and Miss Barbara Makemson; all of Forrest City; a brother, Elmer Makemson of Bessie, Ala.; a sister Mrs. Sarah Freeman of Quinton, Ala.; 18 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
