Willoughby Donnell

Son of Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Holladay) & William Henry Donnell. Willoughby spent most of his childhood in Reno County, KS.
As a young man, he moved to Allen County where he met his future bride; Effie Bishop.
Willoughby & Effie married on 4 June 1912 in Iola, Allen, KS. They resided in Allen County, raising their growing family in Iola, and later moved to Chanute, Neosho, KS.
In the 1930s, the family moved to Kansas City, Wyandotte, KS.
Willoughby was self-employed traveling throughout Kansas and parts of Missouri selling chemicals used by dry cleaners.
In the 1940 census, Effie is shown as married, head of household. It is unclear if the Donnells later divorced or remained married, maintaining separate households.
Willoughby was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters; Matilda Donnell & Garnetta (Donnell) Lorimor, a daughter; Lorraine Bishop Donnell, and a son; S2 Lloyd Willoughby Donnell, who was Killed in Action serving in Hawaii during World War II.
Another son, Clifford Edward Donnell, Sr. was a Prisoner of War during World War II.
Willoughby died from a complication of pneumonia at St. Luke's Hospital Kansas City, Jackson, MO.
