James Pounds, 83, of Waukegan died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the VA Hospital, North Chicago. Born March 19, 1927 in Augusta, Georgia. On October 19, 1954 in Waukegan, James married Arthurdell Todd. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 55 years, Arthurdell Pounds; children, George Pounds, Jeffrey Pounds, Jami Belinda Pounds; brother, Clyde (Nora) Cade; sisters, Louneal Bell, Vera Wallace; five grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Carlton and Lillian (Harper) Pounds, son, Keith Pounds and one brother. James served in the Navy during WWII. He belonged to the WWII Black Veterans Association and was a Boy Scout Leader for 21 years. Memorial services are Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11am at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Interment at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
