Phyllis V. Jones (LaPine) age 85 August 20, 1929 - October 11, 2014 Phyllis Jones was born in Detroit, MI on August 20, 1929. She married Douglas Jones and moved to The Bahamas and spent many happy years there and where she raised her son, Wayne. Phyllis moved to Florida after the passing of her son and husband.
She fought breast cancer for years, and when the cancer recently spread, she passed away on October 11, 2014.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond LaPine, sister-in-law, Nancy LaPine, nieces, Linda (Eric) Collar, Debra (Ralph) Collar, Nancy Nothman, Christy (James) Carriero, and nephew Patrick (Kathleen) LaPine.
Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Eva LaPine, husband, Douglas Jones, son Wayne Jones, brothers, Jack LaPine, and William LaPine, and sister-in-law, Florence LaPine.
Phyllis will be cremated and at her request, her ashes scattered at sea with the ashes of her husband and son.
Phyllis donated much of her time to the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center.
