Obituary: The Franklin Jacksonian, dtd Sat, 19 Jan 1884
"Eighty-seven years of the shadows and sunshine had flitted over the youth and age of Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton, who lived just south of town, when on last Friday she took a voyage to the land where the cares of life can now no longer cast its troubled scenes upon her weary mind."
"Making a Neighborhood", by D.D. Banta - Union Twp, Johnson, IN
.. "In the summer of 1834, Micajah Hamilton, of Mercer Co. Kentucky, came to this county, and being pleased with the outlook entered 240 acres in section 26, and immediately moved his family out, but not to his new purchase. This did not take place till sometime in 1837, at which time the Hamilton family became identified with this neighborhood. ...His wife was Elizabeth Luyster, another descendant of the New York Dutchmen, whom he married in his old Kentucky home ere he came to this state."
