Matilda was the daughter of Amanda (Mindy) Hoch and Jacob Weber. She was the grandaughter of Valentin & Johanna Hoch.
Matilda married August Hattenbach January 6, 1876. They had thirteen children: Elizabeth 1876-1945; Minda Adelheid 1878-1945; Charles Adolph 1879-1929; William August 1881-1937; Martin 1883-1930; Rosa Mary Belle 1884-1945; Valentine Clarence 1885-1920; John Anton 1887-1918; Viola Matilda 1889-1967; Gustav August 1892-1938; Victor Leo 1895-1947; Randolph Herbert 1897 and Lilly Vesta 1900-1990.
Along with raising 13 children of her own, Tilda took her two sisters, Mollie and Dora to raise when her mother, Amanda Hoch Otten passed away.
She really must have been a special lady and mother.
