Clement Joseph Kolbe, age 91, of Chilton was Born to Eternal Life on May 28, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Grace (Mirsberger) Kolbe. Clem is survived by five children: Richard (Susan) Kolbe, Mequon; Roger (Cheryl) Kolbe, Chilton; Ronald (Sandra) Kolbe, Chilton; Gerard Kolbe, Chilton; and Carol (Peter) Mueller, Green Bay; ten grandchildren: and six great grandchildren. Preceding him to Eternal Life are four children: Donald Kolbe, Margaret Kolbe, Peter Kolbe and Mark Kolbe, and two grandchildren: Stephanie Kolbe and Matthew Kolbe. Clem is also survived by two siblings: his twin brother Leo (Betty) Kolbe and his sister Lorraine (Werner) Geiser. Three siblings preceded him in death: Hugo (Louise) Kolbe, Hildegard (Arnold) Weller, and Elmer (Helen) Kolbe.

Clem will be remembered by those who knew him as a hard-working man of God who always had time to help others. His smile, humor, and that special twinkle in his eyes could lift anyone's spirit. He was born on a dairy farm on October 7, 1922 to Joseph and Martha (Reiser) Kolbe. It was on this farm that Clem lived his entire life, raising his family and growing his faith in God. Besides the farm work, Clem was an active member of Good Shepherd Church, formerly the St. Martin Parish in Charlestown. He was also very active in the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights, and Eagles Club.

His community service included several terms as Town Supervisor of Charlestown. He had a special place in his heart for the game of baseball which he played into his forties. His love for the game lives vibrantly in his children and grandchildren. In a special way, Clem and his wife, Grace, will be remembered for their contributions to the lives of people with disabilities. When they became parents of children with disabilities, their response was to embrace these children as special gifts from God. Clem and Grace believed strongly that these children needed to be active participants in the community. Their advocacy and leadership led to establishing the New Hope Center in Chilton. Through all of his life, Clem remained committed to providing for and caring for his children. Clem's example of life-time commitment to family has inspired all those who have known him.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Paul DeMuth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
