Robert was born October 1, 1926 in Coalville, Ut. To Dr. Frank J. Rees and Affra Pettit.
He graduated from North Summit High School and immediately joined the Army. He served in Germany and Austria during which time he was wounded. After his military service he attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in Marketing. After graduation from the "U" he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. During his tenure at the Post Office, he also served in many leadership positions in the American Postal Workers Union as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Postal Credit Union.
On June 19, 1954 he married Beverly Jane Reese (later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple). Together they raised 4 children.
Robert enjoyed working with his hands. He worked in carpentry and lapidary and was more than happy to share those talents with family and friends. He also loved the out of doors and enjoyed many trips to the Uintah Mountains and Jackson Hole and other locations with his family.
Robert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in numerous callings including many years as Scout Master.
Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Reese Rees, daughter Janet (Rees) Erskine, Bobette (John Michaelis), David Rees (Juli), Joyce Rees, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday Nov. 1, 2014 at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 S. 2900 E. with a viewings on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3400 S. Highland Drive from 5-7pm and on Saturday from 11:00 am to Noon at the Canyon Rim Stake Center. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
