Barbara Viola Moody grew up in Glendale, CA. Her middle name is in honor of the youngest daughter of her grandmother Hattie Richmond's who died at a young age. She graduated from Occidental College and then taught 6th grade in Glendale before she married Edwin Floyd James, a US Army Air Force pilot, on September 16, 1944. Tragically Ed's life was cut short from a plane crash in New Mexico that took his life in 1945.
She worked in business for many years, most notable as office manager in her father's business, Moody Sprinkler company. She later married Edward Woods Rebard and they had one daughter, Karen, her only child.
Despite her early heartbreak, she led a full and interesting life and in later years loved to travel. She also dearly loved her family, her brother Bryce, daughter, and her grandsons who she adored. She is very much missed by us all.
She was 83 years old at the time of her passing.
