In the early days Bryce worked for his father at Moody Sprinkler, designing the Moody Hydraulic Valves that every contractor commented were the best in the business. Bryce started a foundry to produce them and sell them to Dad

Later he worked designing for other companies. Eventually he made a name for himself as a hydraulic engineer who was able to solve problems that stumped others. He was listed in the Directory of Engineers even though he had no formal training. He designed and built projects for Boeing in Seattle. He was very intuitive and could think of solutions to engineering problems that were "outside the box" of the usual way to do things. The Los Angeles Times hired him to redesign their paper plant in Seattle. He always took the jobs no one else wanted because they seemed impossible. The impossible was his challenge.

Bryce was a self-taught hydraulic engineer who lived in Seattle and worked for a company that did work for Boeing. After retirement he took up woodcarving and carved small totem poles.
