Eliza Broome was born in Arcol, Madras District of India, the daughter of Col. Henry Broome (Ireland) of the 22nd Regiment of Dragoons and Caroline Louisa Nelthropp (Netherlands). Eliza married Rev. Edward Symons (later Curate & Vicar of Saint Mary The Virgin Church in Ringmer) bef 1838. She died at Ringmer, Sussex, England
