Mary Acklen Grammer of Winchester, 79, died at Methodist Hospital's emergency room October 24 after a lengthy illness.
A Franklin County native, she was born July 9, 1906 to the late Matthew Acklen and Ida Hastings Acklen. She was a homemaker.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Watson-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Woodard Adams officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Grammer Vogel of Murfreesboro; a son, Lee Grammer of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters, Leora Morris and Carrie Hudson, both of Winchester; two brothers, Charles Acklen and Woodard Acklen, both of Winchester; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
