Inscription

In the 78th year of his age

A native of Scotland and Rulling Elder in the Associate Church.

Deep was the wound, O Death and vastly wide,
When he resigned his useful breath and dy'd
Ye sacred tribes with pious sorrow mourn,
And drop a tear at your good Elders Urn!
Concealed a moment, from our longing eyes,
Beneath this stone his mortal body lies;
Happy the spitit lives, and we will trust,
In bliss associate with his pious dust.
