Benjamin Skillman, 52, of 1917 10th St., Rock Island, died suddenly at 1 this morning in Centralia, where he was attending a funeral.
Fuenral services will be held on Sunday in Centralia.
The body will then be brought to the Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, where friends may call after 2 Monday afternoon. Masonic rites will be held at 8 Monday night by Trio Lodge No. 57, AF & AM, Rock Island.
Additional services will be held at 1 Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home, with the Rev. Harry S. Crede, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetrey.
Mr. Skillman was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Jonesboro, Ark., a son of Benjamin and Martha Skillman. He attended schools in Centralia, and moved in 1938 to Rock Island.
He married Ova Baldridge Feb. 20, 1922.
Mr. Skillman was employed for the past 14 years as a supervisory engineer for Army Weapons Command, Rock Island Arsenal.
He was a member of First Methodist Church, Rock Island, and a member of Trio Lodge.
Surviving are the widow; a son, Robert, and a daughter, Linda, both at home; three brothers, Charles of LaGrange, Edward of Lockport and Melvin in California; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Huge and Mrs. James Jackson, both of Centralia, and Mrs. Ervin Spenner of Hoyleton, Ill.
His parents preceded him in death.
