Jewell E. Thompson

Jewell E. Adkins Thompson, 61, of St. Albans, departed to her heavenly home Monday, March 27, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

She was born Jan. 4, 1945, to the late Richard H. and Ernestine Ashworth Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Adkins. She was a beauty consultant for Clarins Cosmetics at Kaufmann's in Charleston. She was a Baptist by faith and a graduate of Hurricane High School's class of 1964, and a lifelong resident of St. Albans.

Jewell is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Clyde Cyrus; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald D. and Verrena Adkins; special friend, John Gwinn; and seven nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans. Granting Jewell's wishes, her body has been donated to the cancer research center at West Virginia University.
