Dorothy Lillian Cyrus, 82, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston.

Born in St. Albans to the late Richard Henry and H Ernestine Ashworth Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde S. Cyrus; sister, Jewell Thompson; brothers, Gilbert and Ronald Adkins both of St. Albans.

Dorothy was a retired clerk for Baisden’s Furniture, St. Albans and also sold Merle Norman Cosmetics in St. Albans. She was a member and Treasurer at Young’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Hurricane and a lifelong residence of St. Albans.

She was the author of her first published book that she had written, “My side of the Hollow”.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Nancy Cyrus of Hurricane and her special cat, Lilly.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Pastor Jim Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
