She was born in Rover, and reared in Rover and Plainview. She was the daughter of John H. and Lula Ellen Parker Wilkerson. She worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal during World War II and was a voting precinct judge for many years. She was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
