Will was a son of John Cockrell and his wife, Martha Matters. Will was employed as a day laborer. There is no record (as of today) that Will ever married. He was listed as single when entering the County Poor Farm on January 28, 1928. Cause of entrance was due to the fact Will was temporarily deranged. He was in poor health. At some point Will was transferred to the State Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. Death was the result of burns.
