Mrs. Althia M. Tallent, a resident of Old Quick Road, Fayetteville, died Tuesday, March 19, 1996, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala. She was 85. A native of Madison County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James I. and Docia Shockley Mason. Mrs. Tallent was a homemaker and charter member of Lincoln Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Smith, Linda McWhirter, and Melba Echols, all of Fayetteville, and a sister, Virginia Adkins of Hazel Green, Ala.
Funeral services were held Thursday in the chapel of Gallant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Williams officiating. Interment followed in State Line Cemetery.
