When Aoki's career began to decline, the family moved to back Japan where she raised their three children which included her stepson Yukio and two adopted girls, Yoshiko and Fujiko.
Aoki's one and only talkie film happened to be her last, the 1960 drama Hell To Eternity. She died the following year in Japan of acute peritonitis at the age of 69.
