Mr. and Mrs. James Comer Thornton, well known residents of Carr's Station, were buried together Wednesday, last week in the cemetery at Reynold's Chapel in Hancock County.
Mrs. Thornton, who before her marriage, was Miss Anna Carr, died Sunday night. Her death came as a great shock to Mr. Thornton, and heart failure, which caused his death Monday evening followed.
The funeral and interment services which were conducted by Rev. J.F. Yarbrough were largely attended.
Their death brought sorrow to their neighbors and friends in Hancock and Baldwin counties.
Mr. Thornton's birthday fell on Febuary 29th, and recent years he has celebrated his birthday every four years with a gathering of his neighbors and friends.
