Funeral services for Tracy Womack, 65, of Clovis, will be held at 10:00 AM, Sat., Nov. 15, 2014 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Rick Raney officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Jared W. Womack, Quinten J. Womack, Michael I. Brown, Mick Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Joshua Inge, Christopher Inge, and Brad Cissell serving as pallbearers. All of Tracy’s many friends will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Tracy Don Womack was born June 24, 1949 in Borger, TX to the home of Georgia (Hampton) and J. W. Womack and died Nov. 8, 2014 in Spearfish, SD where he had gone to watch his son play football for the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys. The family moved to Portales when he was 3 or 4 years old. Tracy graduated from Portales High School in 1967, and for a short time attended E.N.M.U. While he was in Junior High and early High School, Tracy ran a paper route on his bicycle. At the age of 16, he began working at Cissell Transfer and Storage, and continued to work there until his death. Tracy had been employed at the company more than 49 years.

On Dec. 18, 1987 in Portales, he was married to Debbie Bertrand. Tracy was a devoted husband and father, and faithfully attended his children’s sporting events and activities. Through the years he enjoyed Motocross Racing, and was an excellent competitor until he gave it up in 1995 after a serious accident. In addition to the motorcycle racing, Tracy enjoyed bicycling and playing racquet ball. For the past twenty years or more, he enrolled in a racquet ball class at Clovis Community College so that he could play at least twice a week. He always enjoyed doing any outdoor activity with his family. Tracy was an avid fan of the Clovis Wildcats, and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. However, all of those other teams paled compared to his devotion to the NM Highlands Cowboys football team where his son, Jared played.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Debbie of their home; three sons, Jared W. Womack and Quinten J. Womack both of Clovis and Michael Brown of Melrose; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Brown of Kalispell, MT and Nichole and Chris Crawford of Clovis; five grandchildren, Riley, Bryce and Caitlin Shaffer, Hailey Renfro and Brayden Bryant; and three sisters, Linda (Mick) Hoffman, Susan Womack and Karen (Rick) Inge all of Portales; as well as a number of nieces and nephews and other family members. Tracy was preceded in death by both of his parents.
