IMPARATO, Brunone On Friday evening a great man was lost. At age 72, Dr. Brunone Imparato passed away from a long and courageous battle with liver disease. Bruno was the consummate family man. He was a loving husband to Nita, a doting father to Andrew, Claudio, Leonardo, Gifford, Michelle, Jennifer, and Claudia, a generous brother to Gerardo, Silvana, Paola, Gigliola, and Alba, and a proud grandfather to Isabella and Ricardo. He was also a loyal friend and colleague to many. Born June 14, 1935 in Naples, Italy, Bruno was a man of solid roots in two countries. The son of a physician, Giovanni Imparato, Bruno was already a successful cardiologist when he decided to live the American Dream at the age of 33. He joined the medical staff in 1974 at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and upon his retirement in 2005, Brunone Imparato was the first doctor at PIH to be awarded the honor of "Physician Lifetime Achievement Award." He worked on many committees some of which included, Foundation Board Committee, and Bylaws Committees. He also held numerous leadership positions, serving as president of the medical staff, as a member of the medical executive committee, and as director of the Hemodialysis Unit. We love you Papa and Nonno Budu, you will be missed by so many. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Beatitudes of Our Lord Church in La Mirada, CA, (562) 943-1521.
