Moses Aaron answered the call for the draft in Choctaw County, Oklahoma on June 5, 1917. On the registration card he gave his age as 23, having been born at Ft. Towson, Okla., on Sept. 25, 1894. The registration card further reveals that he was married and was farming for himself. He is recorded as being 'Indian'. He signed his card with an X, being his mark.

His name appears on the list of Oklahoma's Soldiers of World War I. He is listed as being a Private from Fort Towser [sic: Ft. Towson], DD [Died of Disease].

The name Moses Aaron appears on the Choctaw and Chickasaw Indian rolls (12/Dec/1904--as well as other dated rolls). On the 1904 enumeration, he is 9 years old. Also listed is Johnson Aaron, age 30, and Sarah Aaron, age 28, and Annie Aaron, age 4. All are listed as Full Blood Indians along with their registered card numbers.

Johnson Aaron and Moses Aaron, as father and son, made a request to the U. S. Government for Moses Aaron's allotment of Government land. He became a farmer on that land sometime after the application date of May 6, 1904. In a later, but an undated paper in the same packet, the wife of Moses Aaron, who gives her name as Harriet Taylor, now Aaron, has signed with her thumbprint the papers which show the acreage once belonging to them has been sold. One piece of the land is listed in Pushmataha County, the other pieces are in Choctaw County. Also on this same paper are the notes that Moses Aaron, Roll No. 3453, died Nov-5-1918, and that he died in France.

On an application for a military headstone or marker, dated April 26, 1946, the applicant is Harriet Aaron, living at Corrine, Pushmataha Co., Okla. On this application it is said that Moses Aaron was a Pfc. (Private First Class), that his birthdate was Jan. 8, 1893. He served with Company H, 141st Infantry, 36th Infantry Division. It states that he died from pneumonia on Nov. 4, 1918. Harriet Aaron is requesting that the headstone be shipped to her at Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, and the headstone will be placed at the Aaron Cemetery near Ft. Towson. No cemetery of that name is known, perhaps it is a family cemetery.

Pfc. Moses Aaron, a Choctaw Indian, served his country during WWI, and died from pneumonia while in France. His exact burial location is presently unknown.
