George Wallace Vail was the son of Benjamin Franklin Vail and Savannah Cordelia Gainey Wilson Vail Alexander. He married Lou Ella Blalock in Quitman, Louisiana. They had two children - Dixie Vail and Georgie Evelyn Vail Herrington. George's siblings were Alonzo Willard Vail, William Melvin Vail, Elmer Eli Vail and Leonard Newton Vail.
