One of seven children of William Tobias 1821-1910 and Jane I. Miller Tobias 1824-1912.

Obituary in Xenia Gazette, April 13, 1917:

PROMINENT FARMER IS CALLED BEYOND
William A. Tobias, one of the best known farmers in Beavercreek Township, died unexpectedly of neuralgia of the heart at 10:30 o'clock Friday forenoon at his home, 3 miles north of Alpha. For several days Mr. Tobias had been complaining of neuralgia, but Thursday was feeling much better and drove to the home of a neighbor. Friday morning he felt well when he arose, but after breakfast was taken ill, and a physician was called. He was thought to be feeling more comfortable, when a second attack came on and he died.

Mr. Tobias was 64 years old and spent all his life in Beavercreek Township. He leaves one son, Rev. Emerson Tobias of Baltimore, Fairfield County, a minister in the German Reformed Church, and is also survived by his widow who was before marriage Miss Jennie Gerlaugh, two sisters and a brother; Mrs. John Barney and Miss Elizabeth Tobias of Dayton, and O.D. Tobias of Beavercreek Township.

He was a member of Beaver Reformed Church and a deacon in the church.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.
