Juanita H. De Hart, 91, passed away June 10, 2014, in Plant City, Florida.

She was born in Cortland, N.Y. October 23, 1922 to Leon G. and Hazel C. Houser.

Juanita is survived by her daughter Judith D. Neville, with whom she resided at 232 Laurelcrest Circle, Valrico, FL for over 6 years, her son Frederick L. DeHart of Wasilla, Alaska, as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. DeHart was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, G. Boyd DeHart, her eldest son, Gerald B. DeHart, Jr. and her grandson, Brent. L. DeHart.

She and her husband owned Cloverdale Poultry Farm and DeHart’s Wayside Market at R.D. #1, / Lorings Crossing, Cortland. They later owned and operated a full service Mobil station for 22 years at the corner of Clinton Ave. and Rte. 13, Cortland before moving to Valrico, Florida in 1989.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 56 years and served as District Deputy Grand Matron of the Cortland-Madison District in 1971-72.

A Memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer.

Interment will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. DeHart requested donations be made to the Homer Chapter #222 OES, c/o Shirley Randolph, 375 Hoy Road, Cortland, NY, Salvation Army, SPCA, or a charity of choice.
