MRS. ELIZABETH STEDT, 98; OPERATED NURSING HOME
HOLDEN: - Elizabeth "Bessie" (Forsberg) Stedt, 98, of 454 S. Main St. died Monday in Holden District Hospital. Her husband, Charles F. Stedt, died in 1959.
Mrs. Stedt operated a nursing home at her home for 20 years. She had also operated a store and coffee shop at her home.
She leaves a son, Harry C. Stedt of Hopkinton; a daughter, Pauline S., wife of Robert C. Rose of Holden; (her youngest son, ROLAND ARTHUR STEDT, died June 20, 1975 in Los Angeles)three grandsons, Robert C. Rose, Jr. of Gardner, Donald W. Rose of Holden and Richard B. Stedt of Hopkinton, two granddaughters, Sally A. Bond of Greenfield and Jacqueline Schrader in Florida, and seven great-grandchildren."
Mrs. Stedt was a member of Salem Covenant Church in Worcester and Wachusett Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star;
Born in Munkfors, Varmland, Sweden, she was a daughter of Per Olaf and Maria (Kasparson) Forsberg.
She came to this country in 1899 and lived in Holden since 1910.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. The Rev. Roger W. Palmquist
will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
