Bethel Community-David “Strawberry” Reece, age 69, passed away at Wake Forrest Baptist Health, on November 20.

Strawberry was born in Haywood County on February 14, 1945, to the late Claude and Letha Trull Reece.

Strawberry was a true “people” person who loved to aggravate his friends. He was a hard worker who enjoyed traveling, camping, laughing, and driving the bus for The Dixie Darlin Dance Team. Most of all Strawberry loved spending time with his grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, Strawberry was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen, Ralph, and Van Reece; and his nephew, Robbie Reece.

Strawberry is survived by his wife, Sonja; his beloved mother-in-law, Norma Winchester; two sons, David Reece (Misti) and Sam Reece; two daughters, Michelle Parker (Tommy) and Angie Riddle (Clint); grandchildren Nathan Burnette (Judith), Whitney Parker, Josh Carver, Cody Riddle, Marissa Fox, Anthony Riddle, Autumn Parker, Lethie Riddle, and Luke Reece; great-grandchildren, Walker and Shay Burnette.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverends Nathan Ashe, Eddie Stillwell and the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Inman Chapel Cemetery.
