John Robertson Proudfoot married Mary D. Prescott of Maine in Fulton County Georgia abt 1869 right after the Civil War. They had four children: Hugh John Proudfoot, William A "Willie" Proudfoot, Clifford Anderson Proudfoot and Annie Proudfoot Rennie. Early in the 1880's, the marriage broke up, and the family had moved to Laredo, Texas. John obtained a divorce and left Texas and went back to Atlanta, Georgia to resume his life. An application for compensation was made in February of 1890 when John resided in Roswell, Georgia. No further information is know about John Robertson Proudfoot. It is possible that he is buried in the same cemetery as his parents but his grave is unmarked.
