Barbara J. Doyle June 15, 1932 - Nov. 26, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Barbara June Doyle, 82, of South Bend, died at 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in Southfield Village. Barbara was born June 15, 1932, in Mishawaka, to the late John and Isabelle (Mitchell) Rhodes. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Robert Rhodes. As Barbara Rhodes, she married Lester Wayne Doyle on August 3, 1952, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Wayne survives along with their children, Vicki (James) Franks of Phoenixville, Maryland, and Ronald (Terry) Doyle of South Bend; five grandchildren: Adam, Eric, and Matthew (Ashley) Franks, and Elisabeth Higgins and Kristin Doyle; along with seven great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Elmer (Linda) Doyle of Galien, MI. Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Mishawaka High School. After high school she worked at Uniroyal in Mishawaka and then for Cooperative Publishing in Mishawaka before her retirement. Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She loved watching her daughter Vicki in the band, her son Ron playing basketball and baseball for Mishawaka and vacationing with Wayne and their grandchildren. She also was involved in several bowling leagues and a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Mishawaka where she was baptized on September 27, 1981. Visitation for Barbara will be held on Monday, December 1st, from 3:00 7:00 pm at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm, also in the funeral home, with Chaplain Deborah Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
