AGED RESIDENT OF SALT LAKE DEAD
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Walden Passes Away

At the home of her son, L. C. Van Voorhis, 345 East Third South street, Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Walden died at 10:45 o'clock last night, after a protracted illness.

Mrs. Walden was 78 years of age, having been born in Columbiana county, Ohio, July 18, 1843. With her parents she went when a small child, to Marshal county, Iowa, the Beeson family, of which she was one, being pioneers of that section of the state.

She was married to Lemert Van Voorhis in May 1869. He died December 1870. In November 1892, she married the Rev. F. Walden, who died several years ago.

Mrs. Walden came to Utah in 1890 with her son and remained with him until her marriage to Mr. Walden. She then removed to Boise, Ida., afterward to the Yakima valley in Washington, and then to Seattle, where Mr. Walden was pastor of the Queen Ann Christian church. Mrs. Walden was a lifelong member of the Christian church and in Seattle was prominent in Club circles.

While on a visit to Long Beach, Ca1., in December, Mrs. Walden was stricken with paralysis and was brought here. She is survived by her son, L. C. Van Voorhis, assistant cashier of Walker Brothers bankers, and by several brothers and sisters in Iowa and Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at the undertaking chapel of S. D. Evans Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.
