Mrs. Grace Nicholson, age 82, of 9 Norwood Street, Rome, GA, died Tuesday May 18, 2004, in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Nicholson was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, February 16, 1922, daughter of the late William and Nobie Poole Dempsey but had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and Floyd County and for many years in the Riverside Community. She was a homemaker and a member of the McFall Baptist Church.
She was married to Thomas Harold Nicholson, September 12, 1943 and he preceded her in death August 8, 2000.
For many years she was a foster parent for the Floyd County Department of Family and Children's Service. She loved to cook, enjoyed rearing her sons, and doing things for other people, she loved to take care of her home and was a very loving person.

Survivors include; two sons and daughters in law; three sisters;, six grandchildren, four great grand children, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Grace Nicholson will be held in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Eidson and Rev. David Terrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, at Forney, Alabama.Mrs.
Nicholson will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends, Wednesday from 7-9 PM at other hours they will be at their respective residences.

The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the services of Mrs. Grace Nicholson.
