MINERAL POINT — Albert L. Burgess, age 73, of Mineral Point, died on Sunday, September 25, 1988, at the Mineral Point Living Center, after an extended illness. He was born on May 11, 1915, in LaFayette County, the son of Albert and Hazel (Clayton) Burgess. He married the former Mary Lois Godfrey on September 20, 1941. They farmed in the Waldwick area for many years, until moving to Mineral Point in 1963. He then worked at Federal Refrigeration in Belleville, until he retired in 1977. Survivors include his wife; two sons; one daughter; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman (Jean) Burgess of Beloit, Clifford (Joyce) Burgess of Darlington, and Robert (Bernadine) Burgess of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Delores (Jim) Douglas of Orfordville, Mary Zink of Freeport, Illinois, and Ann (Ray) Schultz of Beloit; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Louise Meehan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 1988, at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME, in Mineral Point. Reverend C. David Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
