Fredrick Van Renselar Jones (AKA Fredrick Van Ransler) owned a Photography studio in Cloquet, Minnesota in the 1890's, was married to Maude Middleton, and had two sons, Raymond and Lowell, and a daughter, Vivian. Upon Maude's death in 1896, Fredrick left his two sons (Vivian died in 1893) to be raised by other family members. In 1898 Fredrick married Gertrude Drullinger and had two more sons, Vincent and Lellwin. Upon Fredrick's divorce from Gertrude in 1915 Fredrick and his son Vincent moved to Montana. Once there, Fredrick switched his middle and last names to Fredrick Jones Van Ransler, as did his son Vincent from Jones to Van Ransler. Fredrick changed the spelling of Van Renselaer to Van Ransler.
