Historical notes:
October 5, 1687: François Gaudreau (Gautreau/Gautrot) signed a certificate for the work of the Governor of Aulnay; so he arrived in Acadia before 1650, the year of the death of Aulnay (ANF, Col. CI ID. Volume II, fol 85).

2 December 1705: Expropriation of "joining the side of the old fort" location of Port Royal (ibid flight V. fol. 157). As François Gaudreau had been dead for more than twelve years, it must be assumed that his heirs were the owners of this land in 1705.
