Emily Myers, a distant relative of President Herbert Hoover, through Hoover's mother, died in a Reno rest home 18 Sep 1960.

She was a native of Kansas (all records indicate she was born in Indiana not Kansas) and the widow of William Myers, who was an engineer on the old Goldfield Tonopah railroad for many years.

The couple came to Goldfield in 1900 and later made their home in Hawthorne. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Gold Nugget Chapter in Goldfield.

Survived by son Ralph of Reno and grandchildren William, David and Ralph of Reno.

Note: Their son Ralph G. Myers was born 12 Sep 1912 in Texas and died 10 Mar 1980 in Reno, Washoe, NV
