Requiem Mass was celebrated for Melissa Moore, Age 87, who passed away unexpectedly at her home, Tuesday, April 10, 1984, from St, Stephen's Catholic Church on Saturday, April 14, 1984. Father Roman Ludwig was Celebrant of the Mass. Mrs. Donna Farrell was soloist and Mrs. Marilyn Thorson was organist. Selections were: "Holy Mother Gentle Woman" and "I Asked the Lord". St, Stephen's Church choir also sang.

Melissa Baker was born on June 24, 1896, in LaPa=rairie, MN, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Baker. She attended schools in Deer River, MN and then married Oliver Larson there. The couple had three children; they and her husband perished in a house fire. Melissa then moved to Tolna, where she taught school. She then married Ed Moore in Crookston, MN, January 3, 1929. The couple operated a restaurant in Lakota and Red Willow Lake. In 1937, they bought the restaurant in Larimore. They also owned and operated several liquor stores and bowling alleys in Eastern North Dakota. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed on May 4, 1976.

Mrs. Moore is survived by two sons, Edward F. Moore, Jr., Houston, and John M. Moore, Burnsville, MN; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Margaret) Brelie of Larimore; twelve grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Dederick of Deer River, MN.

Casketbearers were: John Brelie, Steve Moore, Joe Hunt, Jr., John Pifer, Bill Shide, and Jameson Larimore III. Commital was in Bellevue Cenetery. A prayer service was held in the Brown Funeral Chapel on Friday, Msgr. William McNamee presiding. (Brown Funeral Home)
