BLEVINS, James E. age 89, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Hospice Care of Middletown on Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born March 3, 1922 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and lived in Middletown most of his life. He served in the Army Engineers during W.W. II, in both Europe and the Pacific Theaters. He was employed as a millwright at Voith-Sulser retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Chapter 131 and American Legion Post 218. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Florence (Keith) Blevins; his wife of 71 years, Ruth Blevins in 2008; his half sister, Edna; and two brothers, Jack and Tom Blevins. He is survived by three sons, Walter Blevins, Drexel Blevins and Alan Blevins and wife Kathy; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Butler County Memorial Park Chapel in Trenton, Ohio, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Butler County Memorial Park, with military services by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 210 S. Broad St., Middletown, Ohio 45044 or to Hospice Care of Middletown, 1001 Grove St. Suite 800, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
