Mrs. Bettencourt was a native of Los Banos, and lived in Turlock and Merced County for 90 years.
She was owner of a grocery store and gas station/bar for 50 years.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar and the Altar Society.
She was an SES distinguished service award recipient, member of SES Supreme Council Choir, SES Council 18 of Stevinson, SES Council 22 of Turlock, UPEC Council 75 of Turlock, SPRSI Council 62 of Atwater, Native Daughters of the Golden West, YLI 223 of Hilmar, Cabrillo Civic Club 30 of Hilmar, Luso American Council 29C-50B of Turlock, UPPEC 42 of Turlock, Our Lady of Fatima Society of Los Banos and Turlock, and Our Lady of Miracles of Gustine.
She is survived by her nephews, Tony DeSai of Los Banos and Ed Gomes of Nevada; and nieces, Edith Homen of Turlock, and Tillie Cluck and Kathy Seamon, both of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bettencourt.
Visitation from noon to 5 p.m. today and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, Turlock.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hilmar.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial at Turlock Memorial Park.
