Nunes, Leo A. 93 years old of Antioch, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, April 7, 2013. He was born July 5, 1919 in Santa Maria, CA, the son of the late John and Rosie (Cunha) Nunes. Leo lived in Wind Lake, WI for many years prior to settling in Antioch in 1973. On September 24, 1950, Leo married Joann Derr in Mill Hall, PA. He spent many years as a pilot for the Federal Aviation Administration and after retirement he worked at Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, IL, late into his life. His hobbies included aviation, golf, politics, and solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife, Joann; his two children, Michael (Linda) Nunes of Sacramento, CA and Lonita Nunes of Wauwatosa, WI; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois (Ron) Lichte; two grandchildren, Heidi and Amy; and one great-grandchild, Kaelan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ten siblings, and his niece, Gloria. Funeral services with military honors are pending at Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI.
