Samuel Walker-Smith died on 18th September 1887 aged 68 at the residence of his daughter, Clifton Cottage, Spondon.

His widow Mary Walker-Smith died on 8th January 1913 aged 89 at Ellerslie, Borrowash.

Second Lieutenant Samuel Walker Moult, of Ellerslie, Borrowash, was killed in action in France on Friday 15th September 1916 aged 28. He played for several local cricket clubs and had for some time been a member of Spondon Church Choir.
