A wonderful man, loved by everyone who knew him, has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Doc was a special man and had the most amazing smile that would light up any room. He was a loving father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle and best friend to his many family and friends.

Doc was born in Spiro, OK to John Louis and Rubie Yarbrough.

He served in the U.S. Army as an engineer in the 349th Engineer Regiment, stationed in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. Upon his release he joined the American Legion, Cecil Cox Post 147.

He married his 'Little Squirt' Ruth Buddle on February 4, 1948.

He loved to spend hours on any lake fishing for 'the big one'.

His life's work was spent laying tile and he worked at that profession almost until the end of his life.

He was a member of Northeast Assembly of God Church in Fresno.

A very special thank you to all of his many friends who helped look over and comfort him and his family in his final days. He loved everyone of you.

He was preceded in death by Ruth Marie Yarbrough, his wife of 54 years; and his daughter, Sharon Yarbrough.

Doc is survived by his daughter, Patsy Owen and her husband Richard of Visalia; his son, Douglas Wilcox and his wife Karen of Clovis; six grandchildren, Tricia Nelson and her husband Stan, Staci Riley and her husband Dustin, Jeff Owen and his wife Liz, Crista Garcia and her husband Robert, Steve Wilcox and his wife Shaunda, and Susanne Wilcox; 13 great- grandchildren, Taylor, Bella, and Caden Nelson, Jackson and Kendall Riley, Ashleigh and Austin Garcia, Rhett and Ava Owen, and Jordan, Eric, Mikah, and Noelle Wilcox.

A Graveside Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.
