Funeral services for Joseph F. Ferrell, age 78, who died at the home of his son, Charles, 501 West Adams Street, Tuesday afternoon at one thirty. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Ferrell had been ill for the past year, but had not been confined to his bed until last Friday. He was born March 5, 1856 in Pulaski county Kentucky, the son of William and Hannah Brown Ferrell.
On January 1, 1880 he was united in marriage to Mollie J. Ferrell and to this union nine children were born. Three children died in infancy. The family moved to Johnson county in February of 1900. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the Christian Church of Kentucky, which he joined at an early age.
Mrs. Ferrell passed away Sept. 7 1905, and he is survived by six children, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren and a brother and sister. The children are: Mrs. Andrew Covert, Whiteland; Steve Ferrell of Mooresville; Adam, Charles, John and George of Franklin. The sister is Mrs. George Veatch of Whiteland, and the brother is John Ferrell of Corban. The Rev. George H. Clark will be in charge of the funeral services. Friends are invited to call at the home at any time prior to the funeral hour.
